Ron came back from his vacation last week, but he didn’t return alone! Check out this short video of Ron’s huge Salmon catch from his trip. You can’t get fish any more fresh than straight out of the ocean!
So what’s Ron doing with all that Salmon? Smokin’ it, of course!
PAPA has a tried and true Smoked Salmon Recipe that’s sharing with you all for your own cooking needs. Fortunately for us at Global Publishing, Ron brought in a few samples, and I can tell you that this recipe is awesome! Ron walked you through the process of smoking salmon in this short video:
Ron’s Smoked Salmon Recipe
- Soak filets in rock salt water for about 4 hours, longer if you like it salty
- Remove from water and let dry.
- Mix ½ cup honey teriyaki sauce with 2 cups of brown sugar and stir. Add a little water to thin and mix well.
- Slice filets in a cross pattern about halfway through. Do not cut skin.
- Put filets in baggies or in a flat pan with enough marinade to coat one side.
- Let filets marinate for two full days in the refrigerator, longer if you want them sweeter. They can sit outside the fridge in a cool house and be OK.
- Lay filets on paper towels and wipe off excess juice. Coat with maple syrup and put on smoker racks.
- Let smoke for 45-60 minutes and remove.
looks delicious!!
Thanks!
I left Alaska in 62 to go in the Army and I swore I,d never go back. I would break that promise if I could go fishing with Ron! I,m putting that one on my Bucket List. Talk about motivation!
Will there be a drawing for some of that at the Great American Real Estate Summit? 🙂 Looks great!
